I Updated Facebook and now It Won't Open | New 2019

Got this myself on my phone, and it simply declined to upgrade. Below's what worked for me.

Edit: this seems to be a problem that Facebook are aware of. It's a concern with the Facebook app, and also not a generalised Play Shop issue.

This is what helped me at the very least.

  1. Settings > Applications > All > Google Play Shop, Clear information and Clear cache

  2. Settings > Apps > All > Google Play Services > Manage room, Clear all data as well as Clear cache


It does not hurt if you restart your phone prior to you attempt upgrading facebook once more. As well as, the set up was SLOW. Simply a minimum of 4-5 minutes. Yet, it did job. If not try to uninstall it, or just await a solution.
