Facebook Disabled My Account
Disabled Facebook Account
Picture my shock when I tried to sign into Facebook one morning only to obtain the following message:
My account was disabled? What does that also indicate?
I attempted to visit with another web browser as well as I got the exact same message. Facebook handicapped my account!
Facebook supplied a form submission page for those wishing to contact Facebook about their handicapped account, and also I emailed them basically asking why my account was handicapped and just how I can obtain access back to the many pages I'm an admin for. I discussed that I take care of a variety of pages for clients, and was constantly mindful regarding the material I published-- nevertheless, my moms and dads are on Facebook too.
After sending the email to Facebook, I sent out an e-mail to the buddies that's e-mail addresses I in fact had and clarified what happened. Thanks to the connect-ability of Facebook, a lot of my friends were just able to be called by me on Facebook.
The replies I obtained from that e-mail were classified into 3 different categories:
- WTF/WTH-- why would certainly they do that ??
- Is it because you published political stuff (I such as Ron Paul and shared web content about #OWS).
- Perhaps someone flagged you.
I check out a few of the articles by others that have actually had their accounts impaired to discover why mine was suddenly drawn-- without warning I need to add. The publishing days on the short articles span the life time of Facebook, revealing that the business has for life been on a behind the curtain project of disabling accounts at their discretion.
I discovered some posts by renowned bloggers or journalists, consisting of Roger Ebert, Robert Scoble, and also Stan Shroeder (Mashable). Much of these high-profiled Facebook users had their accounts and/or pages reabled right after Facebook found that they disabled. For the remainder of us, we're basically on our own.
Reading these write-ups really did not impart much hope in me or my scenario. The realization of what I lost was starting to embed in also.
Throughout the years I had computer systems crash, stolen, shed, and so on and also depend on Facebook to host all my travel and also party photos. The web site isn't going anywhere anytime soon, so why not submit all my photos on Facebook for my friends and also family to see at their discernment? There were more than 2000 photos, many video clips, post (notes), plus all the get in touches with (I still haven't had the ability to reconnect with many who were all shed when Facebook disabled my account). This was seeming a really stark situation as I better understood simply what was shed.
I had to reclaim accessibility to Facebook to manage the web pages for my customers, and also for my very own business. Many of my web pages' admin accessibility were shared with a partner and also were easily set back up with the brand-new Facebook account I begrudgingly created, cursing Facebook under my breath as I established the new account.
Several of the Facebook web pages admin accessibility were shared with my customers, whom I needed to get in touch with to have them re-add me with my brand-new account. Every one of them asked "Why did your account obtain disabled?" as well as truly so. I, also, would examine the person I paid to manage my Facebook page why their Facebook account was disabled. Would not you?
I still do not have an answer to that concern. "I have no idea" is the response I still provide, since its true. Facebook has still yet to offer me a reason my account was impaired. After reviewing the factors Facebook impaired accounts on their web page I was still in the dark. I really did not spam-add individuals, article sexual content, pester anyone. so why they removed me really did not make sense. Just after I read various other write-ups did I understand a little bit more.
Facebook can disable your account if your display screen name is different than that on your birth certificate. Mine was, but not by a lot. It was still phonetically the same, however spelled different than the rest of my household. I additionally had a customer that recently used a competition promotion to increase their email checklist. According to Facebook marketing standards, contests can only be run on Facebook through either applications: ShortStack and WildFire. Could that be why my account was disabled? I examined that client's Facebook web page and it was gone as well. Aha!
Although the contest had not been exactly hosted on Facebook (it was hosted on the customer's web site), and the champion was alerted by means of e-mail (you can not introduce winners on your wall), I was certain this was the angering action which had me brought in off Facebook without so much as a 'Au revoir'.
Now it was about a week because I at first composed Facebook that fateful morning, and I still had not received a reply. I took another look at the web page enabling me to get in touch with Facebook, and described that I currently had a far better idea concerning why they disabled me, which I was sorry. I vowed never ever to do something like that once again (was it really that negative??) if they just reable my account.
I sent that off as well as waited once again. After a couple of more days I realized something. something extremely crucial-- I developed a filter in gmail for Facebook e-mails. Even if they did email me, I would have never ever obtained the email due to the fact that it was set to "Skip Inbox/Delete". Rough.
So I sent out an additional e-mail to Facebook, this moment letting them recognize that I had a filter on my gmail as well as if they did call me prior to this e-mail, I would have never received it.
A couple of days later I lastly received an email from Javier at Facebook. Below's the only reaction I'll likely obtain from Facebook:.
Hi,
Unfortunately, your account has been permanently disabled for violating Facebook’s Terms. We will not reactivate it for any reason.
This will be our last email regarding your account. For more information about our policies, please read the Facebook Community Standards: https://www.facebook.com/communitystandards/
Thanks,

What an adolescent feedback-- certain Facebook is a 'young' company, but I'm sure there should be a person there with much better tact than 'we're not going to reable your account-- don't email us once again.' OKAY Facebook.
So what did I learn from my experience with Facebook?
1. Back up your account! You never ever understand if/when they'll make a decision to erase you.
2. Do not manage your different client's pages with the very same account. If one page/account gets deleted, you will not shed them all.
3. A great deal of my friends are pretenders that's accounts are either hidden from search, or they disabled the "Include as a close friend" button making it difficult to re-add them.
Its had to do with a month given that I had my account disabled, as well as had great deals of time to reflect on the experience. I haven't tried to get in touch with Facebook straight given that I received the e-mail from Javier, however I did begin the website www.facebook-disabled-my-account.org, as well as the hashtag campaign on Twitter #FBdisabledMe to draw attention to the negative experience.
Do I want Facebook to alter their disabling policy? Nope.
I manage a few MU sites and if you want a person off your website, of course erase them/block them/whatever. But also for Facebook to disable the account and also to maintain the data/photos/videos/ connections/blog posts, that is wrong. What would certainly Facebook be if nobody uploaded content onto the website-- No pictures to share or tag-- No articles to Like-- No condition updates to LOL at-- It would certainly be NOTHING.
Facebook should permit those that they disabled to download their account, letting them obtain their photos/videos/notes/ etc., prior to going off to the barren wastelands of Google+, or to RT their pals standing updates (instead of 'Suching as' it). Facebook already makes it possible for an energetic account to be downloaded, so why not a disabled account?
It's time for Facebook to get a little bit elder in this area-- particularly with their IPO introduced. I'm really considering buying stock just so they will certainly need to listen to my problem-- at least I'll profit from them.
Have you had your Facebook account disabled? Did you get it back, and if so just how?
