Facebook App Not Working after Update | New 2019

Got this myself on my phone, as well as it just refused to update. Here's what helped me.

Edit: this seems to be a problem that Facebook know. It's an issue with the Facebook application, as well as not a generalised Play Store problem.

This is what worked for me at least.

  1. Settings > Apps > All > Google Play Store, Clear data and Clear cache

  2. Settings > Applications > All > Google Play Services > Manage area, Clear all data as well as Clear cache


It doesn't hurt if you restart your phone before you attempt upgrading facebook once more. And, the set up was SLOW. Simply at the very least 4-5 mins. But, it did job. Otherwise try to uninstall it, or simply await a repair.
